Junior Newsletter - 13th May
This newsletter hasn’t been around for a couple of weeks due to technical problems with the email system. So this newsletter is an edited version of one I wrote a couple of weeks ago! Read on for updates…
Junior Club Night Dates
Our flagship Junior Club Night restarted on, Friday 22nd April and will run every Friday up to and including Friday 27th May. We will then have a break for the half term (and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – see below) and will return again on Friday 10th June.
Yes, this really popular Saturday morning session is now up and running again! Claire Frewer is running the 45 minute session from 8.15 every Saturday from Saturday 23rd April. There is still time to get your child booked on to this course. Great fun for little ones and their parents, especially now the weather is warming up!
Half Term Tennis Camps
Brian never fails to find a way for parents to get some respite from entertaining their children during the school holidays! Yes, the ever popular tennis camps are back during the upcoming half term so get in touch with Tracey or Brian to book your child on a camp. Click on the link below for the flyer:
Events at the Club
There are quite a few events coming up at our club over the next few months so do keep an eye on your emails as Janet is great at letting our members know what is happening and when.
Well the bunting is up which is a great start for our Open Day happening tomorrow, Saturday 14th May, from 1 – 4pm. We have a great electronic flyer that I hope you have seen and shared on social media (click on the link below!). We also managed to get a banner up on West Street which looks great!
If you have any friends or family who sound even a little bit interested in getting into tennis or squash, now is the time to get them along to the club. There will be food, tea and cake, lots of court action and a chance to get a great discount on the day for new joiners. Spread the word and if you have time, come along and help on the day. There are sign up sheets in the clubhouse for various roles but if you decide at the last minute to turn up, don’t worry, we can find you something to help with.
Jubilee Family Fete – Friday 3rd June 1 – 5pm
This will be a really good afternoon at the tennis club, with lots of family activities planned. So if you’re here on your staycation during the half term, come on down with friends and family and enjoy the afternoon.
Another small dedicated team is organising this event and more information will be coming out soon, so do keep an eye on your emails.
Staycations are so popular these days since the Covid pandemic so make the most of your time during the school holidays not sitting in airport lounges, and head to the tennis and squash club. Great atmosphere, lovely people and a well-stocked bar. What more could you ask for??
See you all soon.
